La commune le Moule tient son nom du môle qui signifie jetée. On y trouve la centrale thermique du Moule qui produit 27% de l’énergie électrique livrée à la Guadeloupe. La ville est en plein développement.
Le Moule abrite le seul port de la côte atlantique et la dernière distillerie, Damoiseau, et une usine sucrière, Gardel, de Grande-Terre.
C’est une station balnéaire réputée pour ses vagues et la pratique du surf.
Le Moule accueillait les résidences de l’aristocratie coloniale au début du 18éme siècle.
Ses habitants sont appelés les Mouliens ou Tannis.

English: Le Moule town holds its name after the word “mole” which means “jetty”. The thermal power station of The Moule which produces 27% of the electric power of Guadeloupe is found there. The town is presently under full economic development.
Le Moule is also the only port found on the Atlantic coast, and place of the last distillery of the island, Damoiseau, as well as the sugar factory, Gardel.
It’s a famous resort well known for its waves and surfing paradise.
Le Moule used to be the residential area of the colonial aristocracy at the beginning of the 18th century.
Its inhabitants are called the “Mouliens” or “Tannis”.
