Bois Chéri se trouve dans le district de Moka, au pied de la Montagne Ory, sur la rive gauche de la Rivière Moka. Ce village faisait partie de Bagatelle. Il a appartenu sous ce nom de Bois Chéri à Charles Telfair de 1815 à 1833.
